Sunlight:
Place your Calamansi in a sunny position receiving around 6–8 hours of sunlight each day. Good sunlight encourages healthy growth, flowering and fruit production.

Watering:
Water regularly, particularly while the tree is establishing and during hot Sydney weather. Allow excess water to drain away and avoid keeping the roots constantly saturated.

Soil:
Use fertile, well-drained soil suitable for citrus. If planting in the ground, improve heavy or poor soil with suitable organic matter while maintaining good drainage.

Feeding:
Use a quality citrus fertiliser during the active growing season. Follow the fertiliser label for application rates and frequency.

Growing in Pots:
The dwarf habit makes this an excellent choice for container growing. Use a pot with good drainage and quality citrus or premium potting mix. As the tree grows, move it into a larger container when necessary.

Pruning:
Light pruning can be used to maintain a neat, compact shape. Remove dead, damaged or crossing branches and avoid excessive pruning when the tree is actively flowering or fruiting.

Calamansi can flower and fruit under suitable conditions. Young trees may take time to establish before producing substantial crops. Consistent sunlight, watering and nutrition will help support healthy flowering and fruit development.

Potted citrus can dry out quickly during hot weather. Check the soil regularly and increase watering when required. Mulching around an in-ground tree can help reduce moisture loss, while keeping mulch away from the trunk.
